Sleigh Bells In Concert: UMBC on September 26th, 2010

Just a day after the Virgin Free Fest, Sleigh Bells were playing at UMBC in their University Center in a small room. The show started out being for students only but eventually was opened to the public. Despite wrong information on the artist myspace and lack of advertising by the school, the room was packed and enthusiastic.

Now if you have seen Sleigh Bells, you know what a non-stop energetic show they put on. Comprised of guitarist Derek Miller and vocalist Alexis Krauss, this duo has taken the industry by storm and it doesn't look like they will be slowing down anytime soon.

The screaming, dancing and jumping began the minute they took the stage and at the end of their set, they were screaming for more. Unfortunately that was all that Sleigh Bells had to give. As said by Miller "we played for 33 minutes and our album is only 32 minutes long". As a band that easily headlines small venues (sold out Ottobar for example), it will interesting to see how they attempt to fill a longer set time; just over 30 minutes does not make a great headlining set.
