Kill Hannah September 22nd 2009 @ Black Cat
by Courtney Campbell
With a new album soon to be released, Kill Hannah made a stop at the Black Cat in Washington DC on their tour with She Wants Revenge. Having seen Kill Hannah fairly regularly over the past couple of years we were looking forward to seeing their live show tonight and hearing the new songs as well as the old favorites. The set was a mixture of old and new as songs from their new album Wake Up The Sleepers were blended into the set. The new songs "Radio","Strobe Lights" and the redone "New York City Speed" went over well with the crowd.

The band itself has undergone changes with the departure of lead guitarist Jonathan Radtke. Gil Baram has filled in nicely into that role. On this tour though Kill Hannah's rhythm guitarist Dan Weise has been absent as he was off on his honeymoon. He was definitely missed onstage.

This is a band that is full of energy and they did not disappont in that aspect. Their live show though usually is more complete as it includes fog and laser lights etc which were all missing from this tour. Maybe we need to wait for their headlining gigs, though I hope not as I'm hearing rumours about their next tour and again they will be support.
