2011 - The Year in ReviewWhat a year for us here at earplugsrequired.com as well as unitingthrumusic.com as one could not mention them separately as they have been very intertwined this year. As this new year begins we are looking at moving unitingthrumusic.com to it's "real" url of musiciansopposedtobullying.com and also revamping earplugsrequired.com - so look for those two things shortly! The year kicked off with the Nightmare After Christmas tour featuring Avenged Sevenfold whom we have to admit is a favorite of ours but really it wasn't until this past summer on Spent quite a few nights seeing the Dead Masquerade Tour headlined by Escape the Fate. The tour had five bands playing (ETF, Alesana, Motionless in White, Get Scared and Drive A. Some nights due to time constraints Get Scared didn't play which was a shame as they quickly became a favorite. We would luckily catch them a few months later on tour with Aiden. As Winter was turning into Spring, we caught shows by The Pretty Reckless, Apocalyptica, and the icon himself, Elton John. Amazing to see someone of his stature and just the presence he brings forth to the stage! Springtime had us out catching the AP tour with Black Veil Brides, D.R.U.G.S., Versaemerge, I see Stars and Conditions Band. As well as Hollywood Undead headlining tour, Aiden and the beginning of As we hit two NKOTBSB tour stops and U2 in Baltimore, summer was quickly approaching and here we were going to be quite busy as we had a week on the Vans Warped Tour planned for unitingthrumusic.com with earplugsrequired.com covering two tour stops. The Rockstar Mayhem tour and the Uproar tour brought our summer to an end with shows by Enrique and Incubus bringing us towards Fall. We now had The Scream Tour featuring Mindless Behavoir and Diggy as well as many club shows by Bush/Chevelle/Filter, Panic! at the Disco, Never Shout Never, Asking Alexandria, Sebastian Bach,Zach Myers, New Year's Day, The Birthday Massacre and Dir en Grey. We saw many more bands than are mentioned here as this is just a birds eye view of the year. It was a great year and we are grateful for all the opportunities that we were given and thank all those that assisted us this year. We also thank all those that recorded anti bullying messages for unitingthrumusic.com as the success of that site is due to all of those artists that took time to record them. Here's to 2012! |
